For the sponsorship of other family members and relatives (other than spouse/partner and dependent children), Immigration Canada offers you two options for who you can sponsor as relatives:

1. Sponsor orphaned brother, sister, nephew, niece or grandchild:
You can sponsor an orphaned brother, sister, nephew, niece or grandchild that are related to you by blood or adoption, only if they meet these conditions:

• Both their mother and father passed away
• hey are under 18 years of age, not married or in a common-law or conjugal relationship.

2. Sponsor other relative:
You may sponsor one (1) relative, related to you by blood or adoption, of any age, if you, the potential sponsor, meet these two conditions:

• You don't have a living relative you could sponsor instead, such as a spouse, children, parents, grandparents, orphaned (brother, sister, nephew, niece or grandchild);
• you do not have any relatives (parents, grand parents, children, siblings, orphaned (brother, sister, nephew, niece or grandchild), aunt or uncle who is a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or registered Indian under the Indian Act.

You can include your relative's spouse or partner and dependent children who will come with them to Canada.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS TO SPONSOR MY SIBLINGS AND OTHER RELATIVES:
To sponsor other relatives to become Canadian permanent residents, you the sponsor should :

1. Be at least 18 years old, Canadian citizen, a permanent resident of Canada, or a person registered in Canada as an Indian under the Canadian Indian Act.
2. Live in Canada.
3. Meet set income guidelines.
4. Be able to provide for the basic needs of any persons you want to sponsor.
5. Gave the financial support you agreed to with immigration Canada when you signed a sponsorship agreement to sponsor someone else in the past.
6. Have paid back (if applicable), an immigration loan, a performance bond
7. Not be receiving social assistance for reasons other than a disability.
8. Have paid your alimony or child support payments.
9. Have been released from bankruptcy if applicable.
10. Not have been convicted of a violent criminal offence, any offence against a relative or any sexual offence inside or outside Canada.
