SPONSOR MY PARENTS AND MY GRANDPARENTS AND THEIR DEPENDENT CHILDREN
The immigration program of Parents and Grandparents opens once a year. If you are eligible to sponsor, you have to submit an interest to sponsor as soon as the form is available online.
You can sponsor your own parents and grandparents that are related to you by blood or adoption. you can sponsor them with their dependent children. You must meet the income requirements for all the people you want to sponsor.BASIC REQUIREMENTS TO SPONSOR YOUR PARENTS & YOUR GRANDPARENTS:
To sponsor your parents, grand parents, and their dependent children to become Canadian permanent residents, you the sponsor should:
- Be at least 18 years old, Canadian citizen, a permanent resident of Canada, or a person registered in Canada as an Indian under the Canadian Indian Act
- Live in Canada
- have enough money to support yourself, your immediate family, and the persons you want to sponsor;
- be able to provide for the basic needs of any persons you want to sponsor
- gave the financial support you agreed to with immigration Canada when you signed a sponsorship agreement to sponsor someone else in the past
- have paid back (if applicable), an immigration loan, a performance bond
- Not be receiving social assistance for reasons other than a disability
- don't have a court-ordered family support payments such as alimony or child support (not applicable if you live in Quebec)
- be discharged from any bankruptcy, if applicable (not applicable if you live in Quebec)
- not been convicted of a violent criminal offence, any offence against a relative or any sexual offence inside or outside Canada.

INCOME REQUIREMENTS FOR THE SPONSOR PARENTS AND GRANDPARENTS
To be eligible as sponsor you must prove that you meet the income requirements for the 3 previous tax years, before the date you apply.
You must provide a notice of assessment from the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) for each of the 3 tax years.
Your spouse or common-law partner can co-sign your application to combine your incomes.
If you live in Quebec You must meet Quebec's income requirements.
