SUPER VISA FOR PARENTS AND GRANDPARENTS


Parents and grandparents super visa is a multi-entry visa that provides entry periods lasting up to 5 years. The validity of the super visa is up to 10 years. You have to be outside of Canada to apply for the Super Visa.

Important: You cannot include dependent children in the super visa application. You can only include your spouse or common-law partner to accompany you to Canada under this program.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS FOR SUPER VISA PARENTS & GRANDPARENTS:
  1. Be the parent or grandparent of a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada
  2. The child or grandchild who invites you must prove that their household meets the minimum necessary income. Click here for: Income requirement
  3. Have a signed promise of financial support for the length of your visit from your child or grandchild who invites you to Canada.
  4. Have medical insurance of at least 1 year, coverage of least $100,000 coverage from a Canadian insurance company.
